I co-manage a Belfast-based Data Visualisation team, working on Consulting projects across the UK. If you've ever led a data viz team, you'll know that it isn't always plain sailing; training, resourcing and empowering team members is an ongoing commitment. Our team is still learning as we go, but I've picked up a few tips on our journey that might help anyone who's in the same boat.
Through the medium of the alphabet, I'll share who we are and how we manage our team. Along the way, I'll cover how we help people from a non-technical background to love data viz, what a 'typical' project looks like, and how to foster a community.
I'll tell our story through each letter of the alphabet (yes, even X), so hopefully you can pick up some practical tips on how to build a community of data viz practitioners who love what they do.
