Miriam Quick is a data journalist and researcher and Stefanie Posavec is a designer and artist. They have spent much of their shared practice exploring how to move data visualisation 'beyond the bar chart' and extending what is possible in the realm of presenting and experiencing data.
Alongside previous projects they will talk about their new all-ages book, I am a book. I am a portal to the universe. (Particular Books / Penguin UK), which continues their shared practice of making data physical, participatory and experiential, discussing how they believe 'post-infographic' explorations are a powerful approach to reaching the data-uninitiated or data-intimidated. Using their book as a starting point,
Miriam and Stefanie will share the creative processes and strategies they use to come up with new and innovative ways of presenting data in the hopes it will inspire all DataViz practitioners regardless of background to experiment, innovate, and push themselves one (small) step further when working with DataViz.
