High level presentation for non-experts and/or Leaders who want to understand why data vis is important for communication and how they can improve this at their organisations.
The Bank of England wanted to update and improve the effectiveness of it's analytical communication. But the charts used in their publications were outdated and old fashioned - developed in an era when print was dominant and the term ‘big data’ had yet to be coined. So data visualisation was included in their 2020 strategy to improve how they communicate. Their new approach uses data visualisation best practise, and the latest visualisation technology, to produce creative and engaging charts and graphics that clearly illustrate their analytical insights and what they want to say.
In this session, Lyndsey takes the audience through the Bank's journey, from why they decided to include DataViz in their strategy, to how they are actually doing it.
You will hear and learn about:
1. Why good DataViz is crucial in explaining and presenting your data and analysis
2. The best practise framework she has developed to improve DataVis across the Bank
3. Case studies and examples of how this has been put into practise to improve their communication.
